Arnaut Chief is an oil on panel painted by Jean-Léon Gérôme in 1870. Signed at the upper left, the work measures 24.6 × 30 cm. This portrait of an Arnaut leader has also been catalogued under the title Bashi-Bazouk Chieftain.
Provenance published by Christie’s records that Goupil & Co. acquired the painting directly from the artist in April 1870. It later passed through several collections before remaining with a Dutch family for much of the twentieth century.

Our frames measure 1.7 cm on each side. For a 40x60 cm painting, the total framed size is therefore 43.4 x 63.4 cm.
Canvas 100% polyester (285 g/m²), UV-resistant and solvent-free inks, safe for children and allergy sufferers. The canvases are mounted on a 2 cm thick wooden frame (4 cm for very large formats).
