The Tuileries Garden in Paris and Café Wepler shifts his focus to the urban environment. However, the compositions retain the same attention to the relationships between people, furniture, vegetation and architecture.
Portraits and Modern Life
After the First World War, Vuillard produced numerous portraits of actresses, writers, industrialists and members of his circle. The Musée d’Orsay recalls his approach: he did not simply paint a face, but people in their own homes. Landscapes and Stays Outside Paris
